Prayer is an important part of my life and I believe the power of prayer is real! I'm no professional, but I know that "my prayer hotline" has brought me comfort, clarity, lessons, humility, peace, healing, and blessings beyond my imagination!
I designed one of our signature pieces of jewelry to model a rosary so that i could always have my prayer bead reminder with me. When you have focus issues like I do, having a physical reminder in your hands helps you tune in when you are saying the rosary or any prayer that you might want to say.
My prayer life, like the rest of my life, is rather undisciplined. It comes in all of these forms:
- in the morning when I'm waking up
- before dinner to thank God for the food
- in the middle of the night when I'm anxious
- driving down the road when I see something beautiful
- driving down the road when I have road rage and need forgiveness for my language :)
- on a run when I'm blessed by good weather and a clear mind
- anytime prayer concerns or praises pop into my crazy brain
- when I Hail Marys to calm me down and help me focus
My parents gave me the example of prayer when I was growing up and my little sister once taught me to be as specific as possible and label my prayer requests with exactly what I am seeking. My sweet friend, and prayer warrior, Suzanne taught me to keep a list of my intentions because I was forgetting who and what I said I'd pray for.
Prayer does not have to be anything fancy, it can be prayers that someone else wrote, prayers from the bible, or an actual conversation with you and Jesus. Just blurt it out! That seems to be the most effective for me :)!
We have a lot to pray about right now and I believe that there is always something to praise about too!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for all the goodness and blessings that you have given me in life. Please comfort your people. Bring healing to our great Nation and bless the leaders of our country and all those on the front lines defending us from this terrible virus. Help them to feel your mighty hand in control and your loving embrace surrounding them. Thank you for all you do and all you are. Amen
love and hugs,
Sherri
